About Météore

This contemporary outdoor monumental metal sculpture is by Jean-Pierre Morin.

A champion of public art, the distinctive oeuvre of the beloved Quebec sculptor Jean-Pierre Morin has won him critical praise both home and abroad. Morin has been dubbed the ‘Light Sculptor’ for his love of light reflecting materials.
His eclectic sculptural work is often inspired by organic forms found in nature—earth, water, fire and air. The bodacious tear-drop shape of this unique sculpture is accentuated by the choice of material; highly polished perforated aluminum that naturally reflects sunlight.

“I like to do simple shapes; I mean shapes looking very simple but it's very difficult to do. So what I tried to do is make a shape, which is not very formal.” Jean-Pierre Morin

”His art emanates from a deep knowledge of the universe he questions; his vision is not Cartesian, the artist is on the lookout for what surprises, the irrational in the configuration and what is unexpected in the movement of the form.”
Isabelle Mevius, Artistic Director, La Poste Gallery, Montreal
