About Mobius H3 14/50

Jeremy Guy’s series of elegant contemporary sculptures, called Mobius, are created from rich black granite. Smooth-surfaced and subtly flecked with copper and white, the form—a Möbius strip is a mathematical construct—a surface with only one side and one boundary, first discovered in 1858 by August Ferdinand Möbius, a German Mathematician.
(You can create your own Möbius strip by taking a strip of paper, giving it a half twist and joining the ends to form a loop.) Guy’s work is inspired by the renowned modernist
sculptors from Britain—Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore.

This sculpture is numbered in an edition of 50 and can be purchased on a commission basis. Please allow 8 - 12 weeks before shipping.

Mobius is supported by a fixed base, available in the following finishes:
½” painted black steel
1” brushed aluminum
3” engineered stone
Custom plinths are available to complement the sculpture.
12" × 12" or 14" × 14" footprint: $2,000 for the first 12" in height, plus $1,000 for each additional 12".

The sculpture connects to the plinth via a steel pin, allowing Mobius to rotate independently of the plinth.

“I feel it is my role as an artist to create a pause for contemplation by embracing that which is new and highlighting the wonder of what is already there". Jeremy Guy
