About Entanglement A1
This amber glass wall sculpture is by John Paul Robinson. The superb hand-blown glass work of this Canadian artist is held in several prestigious public collections in both Canada and the U.S.
John Paul Robinson’s elegant designs capture the beauty of light as it illuminates each piece seemingly from within. His artwork is often inspired by nature and symbolizes the complex world of science. The gentle arc of Entanglement’s two solid glass amber coloured rods references the scientific concept of how fundamental particles stay connected to one another, no matter how far apart they become. Placed on the wall beside one another, at different heights, the dynamic sculpture almost appears in motion. The ‘A’ in the title is for amber—edition #1.
“All of my pieces are informed by, allude to, represent or symbolize an aspect of our scientific understanding of how the world works. Science will one day inform a new spirituality.” John Paul Robinson
John Paul Robinson was born in Toronto in 1954 and educated at the Georgian College of Arts and Technology and the Ontario College of Art, where he later taught for several years.
