About Legacy

Legacy is the work of a Canadian metal artist, Julien Granger whose artistic practice includes works that are sculptural, functional, and dynamic. At the heart of this kinetic sculpture is a large feather, hand-forged from stainless steel.
The feather is mounted on a metal shaft balanced upon a circular pivot set atop a steel H-beam.
A stone positioned at the opposite end serves as a counterweight, enabling the work’s subtle movement. Through the interplay of weight, motion and form the sculpture is intended to invite contemplation of life’s journey and the delicate balance between past, present, and future.

Julien Granger’s career began in motorcycle maintenance and precision machining. A few years ago he had a life-changing trip to the Yucatan peninsula that led him to open his own metalworking business in Quebec. At Granger Fab. Co. he pursued a new artistic vision. Granger’s sculptural work is informed by his superb technical ability in working with metal.
