Toronto photographer Mark Bartkiw creates dramatic and haunting images. This photograph was created using multiple processes and images. The final composition of a low-rise apartment block set against a glorious glowing sunset, with a sandy beach filling the foreground, seems surreal. That is the artist’s intent.

Mark Bartkiw studied photography at Sheridan College. Bartkiw worked as a freelance photographer in advertising, portraiture and the fashion and music industries for a host of prestigious clients including Toronto Life, Paramount Pictures and Universal Music. His artwork is held in both private and public collections.
