About Good Run

This colorful contemporary abstract painting was made by Milly Ristvedt.

Canadian artist Milly Ristvedt has been exploring the creative and emotive possibilities of color expressed in abstract form for more than five decades. This painting was completed in 1989 and is a fine example of Ristvedt’s intuitive and inspirational use of color and expressive form. Swaths of fresh modern colors—magenta, purple, deep blue, emerald green, golden yellow, aqua, black, and white appear to float across the canvas. The result is a dynamic and engaging painting that evokes a joyful feeling.

“Colour has been central to my explorations in painting from the beginning.”
Milly Ristvedt

“…colour with its infinite potential is accessible to everyone, is indifferent to any individual’s personal circumstance. It speaks to us across time, space, and cultural differences. It is a universal language accessible to all.”
