About Equilibre Rouille No.6
This contemporary outdoor metal sculpture is geometric in shape.Philippe Pallafray’s hand forged and welded stainless steel sculpture seems to defy gravity. The Quebec sculptor is known for his evocative work that uses metal and organic shapes to represent the duality of nature and the industrial world.
In this dynamic piece, a highly polished sphere balances precariously between two rust-coloured cubes that are “off set’. Pallafray wants the viewer to walk around the sculpture and see it from different angles. Equilibre means ‘balance’ in French. One of a series.
“What is removed from the sculptures, the voluntary emptiness, recalls the ephemeral and fragile nature of life.” Philippe Pallafray
