About Fragile

In this intriguing new contemporary sculpture by Quebec’s Phillipe Pallafray six bright white cubes appear as if suspended in space. Each cube is attached at just one corner emphasizing the delicate and fragile nature of balance. Pallafray uses industrial components that he cuts, shapes, folds, and welds to create work designed to represent the duality of nature and the industrial world.

“My geometrically shaped sculptures, whose angles and planes resemble Japanese origami, oppose the strength of metal with the fragility of paper.” Phillipe Pallafray

He is a member of the Sculptors Society of Canada. Born in France, he emigrated to Canada ten years ago and currently lives in Ile d’Orléans, Québec. Pallafray's sculptures have been exhibited in Canada and the United States both as part of group and solo exhibitions. They are also part of public and private collections in Canada, France and the United States.
