This contemporary sculpture is forged from stainless steel and designed for the outdoors.

Philippe Pallafray’s ‘Mecanique Celeste’ series of dynamic sculptures play with the concepts of industry and nature. A highly polished stainless-steel ball appears to float above a rectangular pedestal framed by a rust-colored and mirrored form. The ball sits in dramatic contrast to its natural environment and yet also mirrors it back to the viewer through its reflective surface. ‘Rouille’ means rust-colored in English. ‘Mecanique Celeste’ means ‘heavenly mechanics.’

This piece is numbered in an edition of 10 and available by commission. Please allow 4-6 weeks upon completion for delivery.

Philippe Pallafray is a member of the Sculptors Society of Canada. Born in France, he emigrated to Canada several years ago and currently lives in Ile d’Orléans, Québec. Pallafray's sculptures have been exhibited in Canada and the United States both as part of group and solo exhibitions. They are also part of public and private collections in Canada, France, and the United States.
