About Last Dinner
In this colourful abstract painting, Montreal artist Robert Wiseman pays homage to the famous 15th century ‘Last Supper’ painting by Leonardo Da Vinci. 12 figures are gathered around a large table set for a feast rendered in yellows, blues and greens. Wiseman was influenced by the famous mid-twentieth century Canadian artist, Goodridge Roberts. Like Roberts, Wiseman favours abstracted figures, still life and landscapes painted in intense warm colours.Robert Wiseman graduated with distinction from Concordia University in 1997 with a BFA. He works from his studio on the Plateau in Montreal. Wiseman’s canvases are found in private and public collections throughout North America.
