About Sharon

A gorgeous eclectic living room, rich in colour and detail reveals an intimate portrait of the woman who lives here. The details—bold floral wallpaper, an ornately carved gold framed mirror, a shelf with a collection of milk glass pieces, books and photos, a comfortable velvet chair, a curio cabinet and a lush palm plant. This is artist Shani Mootoo’s signature—compelling photographs of interior spaces that engage the viewer to discover a personal story. Mootoo’s work is not curated; it captures a true image of a space where life is lived.

This giclee print is editioned, 1/8. The work is matted, framed. Framed size is 30.5 x 40 inches. It is also available in 16 x 24 inches (25 x 33 inches framed, edition of 10, $2,600.) Print on Demand

“The manner in which I take a photo is very much assuring me that what I saw was there—particularly in this day and age when truth and reality seem to be contentious and subjective.” Shani Mootoo
