About Crosscut Black
This abstract metal black wall sculpture is by Shayne Dark. For decades, Dark’s eclectic artwork has been inspired by the natural world that surrounds his home. His unique vision of using strong, raw materials such as steel has elevated his sculpture’s design and singled him out as a superb artist. This dynamic wall sculpture is hand forged from steel and powder coated in black paint. Its mesmerizing spiral form mimics similar shapes found in nature.
“Experiencing the natural world will often give me a germ of an idea and then I run with it.” Shayne Dark
“Since the mid-1980s, Shayne Dark has transformed ordinary materials such as aluminum, glass, lead, steel ball bearings, and wood into atmospheric and thought-provoking installations.” Buffalo AKG Art Museum
