About Current #5
This contemporary abstract painting features colourful geometric patterns. For several decades, the dynamic acrylic paintings of Yvonne Lammerich have attracted the attention of both critics and art collectors internationally. This series of abstract paintings called ‘Current’ explores shape and vivid colour— expressed in bold geometric patterns that appear to have palpable energy. Lines, squares, circles, and triangles are rendered in bright red, blue, gold, green, and burgundy. One of a series that when grouped together make a powerful visual statement.
"I think not only of colour but of the more encompassing idea of light. I think not only of paint but of its materiality as matter. I think not only of structure but of its origin in pattern." Yvonne Lammerich
"Lammerich has always been interested in patterns, but patterns understood through the sieve of a colour-sensibility and syntax that conserves its freshness, its originality and its dynamism." James Campbell, Writer and Curator
