About Currents#11
For decades, Yvonne Lammerich has produced evocative contemporary artwork that has been exhibited internationally This series of colourful graphic acrylic paintings showcases her masterful sense of colour and form. Geometric shapes rendered in a rich combination of scarlet, chocolate brown, turquoise, green, red and melon form a dynamic pattern against an atmospheric background of wavy lines--‘currents.’ Each painting is bordered with triangles. Designed as a striking series.“I simply allowed the reconfiguration of these eight shapes to construct their own field of contraction or expansion while also playing with colour, identity and the manipulation of directional material marks to enhance the intention of visual movement.” Yvonne Lammerich
