About Time Space Zone #2
This series of contemporary black acrylic and pencil on paper was created by Yvonne Lammerich. The masterful Canadian artist has spent decades exploring the nature of the human condition in wholly unique and creative ways. This bold graphic series in black on white uses a modified grid pattern—its fluid patterns are designed to express an emotional response to the idea of time and space. In each square thick gestural brushstrokes of acrylic paint add texture and visual interest.“There was also a rethinking in the convention of a painted surface. I was much more interested in imagining paint as a physical material that was simply transported from one place to another marking an event, hence the thick deposits of paint to locate that event.” Yvonne Lammerich
