CONFLUENCE: A Solo Exhibition by Alice Teichert

11 October 2025 — 9 November 2025

“These days I find myself merging the many different aspects and styles of my painting techniques and approaches. A confluence of experiences creates something new every day, a form of reflection that we can relate to beyond words and share with others to enrich our senses and maybe even enhance our souls, our lives.” Alice Teichert

Confluence is defined as a "coming or flowing together, meeting or gathering at one point."

The title resonates with contemporary artist Alice Teichert as confluence describes the magical interplay of colour, form and light evident in each of her deeply evocative compositions. For more than four decades, Alice Teichert’s luminous art has captivated critics and collectors on the international stage. She describes her ethereal artwork as "visual poetry"—an invitation to enter another "realm" and experience "colour in all its beauty." Her signature bold palette, the curated markings and lines, the layered visible textures that blend transparent and translucent colour—some glossy, others frosted coalesce creating remarkable almost holographic depth.

The complex lacework of soulful elements in Alice Teichert’s art is rooted in a life spent embracing the arts—playing music, writing and drawing. Alice’s mother was an accomplished pianist and once while she was playing, an artist and family friend encouraged a 12 year old Alice to draw the sound of her mother’s music.

“Teichert composes her own visual poetry inspired by music, language and colour that seeks to provide a point of entry to transport and transform the viewer.” Elisa Coish, curator

The work presented here is a superb collection of new paintings produced during the last four years. CONFLUENCE also includes paintings from a recent 40 year survey show that featured images with a double page motif—an homage to the two-page music sheets used during the artist’s childhood piano lessons.

Join us for the opening of CONFLUENCE--Saturday, October 11th from 4-6pm.

Alice Teichert will be present and will deliver remarks at 5pm.
