Andrew Lui

26 June 2009 — 21 July 2009

Lui's works in ink and acrylic on rice paper are both lyrical and profound. He translates visually those things which both afflict and affect us, the sorrows and joys of living. Internationally exhibited and collected, Lui speaks to the duality in all things, the dialogue between east and west, the passage of time and its recurring themes. "Sparse and strikingly contemporary, Lui's compositions proclaim their own territory while his brushstroke harks at the fluidity of eastern calligraphy," notes Montreal art critic, Dorota Kozinska. Please join us at the Opening Reception on June 27 from 3pm - 7pm.
