Modern Beauty

23 August 2014 — 8 September 2014

Ronald Boaks, Dale Dunning and Daniel Hughes All three artists selected for the exhibition MODERN BEAUTY push notions and boundaries of classical aesthetics. Ronald Boaks' 'still life' photographs create witty commentary by juxtaposing classical and modern elements. Painter Daniel Hughes pays homage to classical painting techniques with a loose hand. Bold, modulated colour brushstrokes showcases formal composition in a new and refreshing light. And finally, bronze sculptor Dale Dunning’s skilled craftsmanship presents new ways of looking at the human face – sometimes as a mask, other times brimming with words and thoughts – and always compelling, sacred and narrative.
