Milly Ristvedt at the Art Gallery of Peterborough
Milly Ristvedt’s lyrical painting Parallels (1988) has been included in Ways Through, an exhibition from the permanent collection at the Art Gallery of Peterborough. Curated by Nicole Bauberger and Flynn Leitch, the exhibition includes a strong line up of Canadian figurative and abstract art. The exhibition continues until August 4, 2019 at the Art Gallery of Peterborough.
In her paintings, Ristvedt explores the power of colour and the grid. In Beginning Here (1988) painted the same year as Parallels, the artist creates a ballet of intersecting brushed swipes in mauve, blues and yellow.
