Milly Ristvedt goes to Washington
A dynamic, early painting by Milly Ristvedt will be included in an upcoming exhibition at the Embassy of Canada to the US in Washington, DC.
Ristvedt's Strawberry Dreams, Strawberry Nightmares (1975, acrylic on canvas, 72 x 60 inches -- below) is being loaned by the Canada Council's Art Bank for A New Light -- Canadian Women Artists. The exhibition is financed through partnerships with the Canada Council and ScotiaBank and runs from February 7 through early May, 2020.
The show is available to the public in an art gallery inside the embassy that is located at 501 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Washington, DC. At the close of the show, Ristvedt's painting will be moved to a new location within the embassy as one of 170 artworks available throughout the building.
Above is another compelling, early painting from 1975 by the Ristvedt, Free Place, Blue Green (1975, acrylic on canvas, 72 x 60 inches). This painting is available through Oeno Gallery.
