Tomorrow, Artspace (Peterborough, ON) will unveil the Alymer Street Mural designed by artist Chrissy Poitras.

Poitras, a painter and printmaker as well as co-owner of Spark Box Studio in Prince Edward County, painted the mural, titled “Floral Abstraction,” on the wall of the building at 378 Aylmer Street. The building houses both Artspace and Peterborough GreenUP.

This project is part of the City of Peterborough’s Public Art Initiative. The City of Peterborough’s Public Art Program helps to create culturally enriched public spaces that foster a sense of place and an emotional attachment to Peterborough’s urban and natural environment. The projects are intended to generate continued interest in and awareness of public art in downtown Peterborough.

The official unveiling will take place at Artspace on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 5:30pm.
