Sculptor Jana Osterman Featured in a New Juried Exhibition “Sculpture 2021”

Sculptor Jana Osterman is featured in a new juried exhibition “Sculpture 2021”. Presented by the John B. Aird Gallery, this juried online exhibition and art book features 70 pieces of ‘contemporary sculpture’ from 54 artists.

The exhibition is juried by Robert Birch, President of the Birch Contemporary art gallery, a seminal venue that features emerging to established Canadian and international artists, with regular monthly exhibitions. The Birch Contemporary principal holds a BA, in Art and Art History Specialist Degree from University of Toronto at Mississauga – Erindale College and a Visual Arts Diploma from Sheridan College. His seminal art gallery opened its doors to the public more than three decades ago.

Sculptor Jana Osterman was born in Slovenia, and moved to Holland where she studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. She continued with printmaking studies in England. For the last 20 years, Osterman has worked as a full time artist and fabricator in Canada, first in Toronto and now Prince Edward County, Ontario. Using a variety of materials including cast aluminum, copper and plaster, the artist creates biomorphic themed wall reliefs. Her work intersects the organic and enigmatic with references to the natural world. Osterman’s artworks, including public commissions, are held in collections in Canada, Slovenia, Germany, England and Dubai.
