For three months, Canadian ceramic artist Paula Murray will be working in the International Studio on an all-expenses paid artist residency in ‘The Porcelain Capital’. Jingdezhen, China attracts ceramic artists throughout China and around the world — the studio boasting state-of-the-art facilities and kilns. Paula will be joined by twenty other artists working on contemporary ceramic art in the studio as well. Jingdezhen is said to have produced pottery as early as the sixth century CE, becoming the largest centre of production of Chinese porcelain by the 14th century.

During her time at the International Studio, Murray will be giving a lecture about her work to encourage and inspire ideas among artists in the residency. Murray will be completing her residency from November 1, 2023 to January 18, 2024.
