Shani Mootoo featured in SPEECH ITSELF - a light installation at Rockefeller Center this September

Shani Mootoo will be featured in SPEECH ITSELF - a light projection installation that will illuminate the Rockefeller Center to defend freedom of expression.

The light projection by renowned artist, Jenny Holzer, will take place from Sept 14-Sept 18th, illuminating three buildings in Manhattan’s iconic Rockefeller Center. SPEECH ITSELF is a tribute to PEN America’s 100 years of defending the fundamental rights that make free expression possible. The buildings will be lit with selected passages from gift writers, including Shani Mootoo, who is also an accomplished filmmaker, painter, and photographer.
