SPLACES artist talk

SPLACES.STUDIO is set to make its Canadian debut at Oeno Gallery, presenting two interactive sculptures that have gathered international acclaim "Megalith" and "Nidium". This event marks the North American premiere of these works, which seamlessly blend art, technology, and ecological consciousness.

As part of the event on Tuesday, Oct 14th 4-5pm, curator Khristina Ots will host an artist talk, delving into the studio’s philosophy and the concept of nature-driven technologies. They will share insights into the studio’s origins, interdisciplinary approach, and the technical intricacies behind their installations. Following the talk, attendees are invited to a guided tour of the sculpture garden, offering a hands-on experience with the interactive pieces.

About SPLACES.STUDIO

Founded in late 2023, SPLACES.STUDIO is an interdisciplinary collective at the nexus of art, science, and technology. The studio specializes in creating interactive installations that utilize AI, environmental data, and sensory inputs to foster empathy and dialogue between humans and the natural world. Their work challenges anthropocentric perspectives, aiming to reveal the intrinsic intelligence and agency of non-human entities.

Khristina Ots is a curator and researcher with a focus on post-anthropocentric art practices. Her work explores the intersections of ecology, technology, and philosophy, advocating for inclusive narratives that recognize the voices and experiences of non-human life forms.
