Artist Talk with Toni Hamel - Thursday July 10th at 5:30 PM at Oeno Gallery
Oeno Gallery is excited to announce that we will be hosting an artist talk with multidisciplinary artist Toni Hamel on Thursday, July 10 at 5:30 PM, as part of our current exhibition SUMMERING.
In this talk, Hamel will discuss the evolution of her practice, her thematic interests, and many more topics surrounding her work.
Toni Hamel describes her work as “an illustrated commentary on human frailties… a compendium of unintended consequences.” Her conceptually driven practice uses satire and storytelling to reflect on the "...psychological unease of our anthropocentric age." Referencing history, pop culture, and environmental concerns, Hamel’s work questions human behaviour while highlighting the repercussions of our actions.
Born in Italy and based in Kingston, Ontario, Hamel’s award-winning work has been exhibited internationally and is held in both public and notable private collections, including those of J.J. Abrams, Whoopi Goldberg, and Julia Roberts.
This is a free event, open to the public. We invite you to join us for an insightful evening of conversation and contemporary art.
