Using rich colours—blues, reds and yellows reminiscent of the old masters, Paris born Alice Teichert’s new work continues to explore the effect of light on delicately layered translucent gels. Central to this ethereal piece is a radiant yellow sphere (suggesting divinity?) as it appears suspended above Teichert’s elegant script.“I’m always exploring the double page…the hues, the colour…I use colour as a language.” Alice Teichert
Alice Teichert, RCA, was born in Paris, France, in 1959. She studied music, philosophy and visual arts in Belgium and France. Since 1989, she has built an international career with over 40 solo exhibitions in Canada, France, Switzerland, Germany and Australia.
The recipient of numerous awards, in 2024, she was inducted into the prestigious Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (RCA) in recognition of her exceptional contribution to the visual arts. Alice Teichert’s paintings are held in many private, corporate and public collections worldwide.
