A flood of shimmering cobalt blue rises from strips of brilliant lemon yellow and turquoise highlighted with dynamic marks and lines in black and red-orange in this horizontal canvas. The artist works with thin layers of acrylic gel and pigment to produce a glossy jewel-like surface interspersed with calligraphic and musical notations which she refers to as visual poetry: "Over the course of creating these paintings, a visual notation slowly unfolds into its own form of resonance like ripples of language dancing in space, water and time." ~ Alice Teichert Multidisciplinary artist Alice Teichert studied music, philosophy, visual arts in Belgium and France. Since 1989, she has built an international career with over 30 solo exhibitions in Germany, France, NY, Canada, Switzerland and Australia. Teichert’s paintings are held in many private, corporate and public collections including the MacLaren Art Centre, Global Affairs Canada, the Musée de la Ville de Valence, France.
