This lyrical abstract composition—a landscape re-imagined is by Aron Hill. The Calgary artist often creates work that features nature—a sun, leaf-like shapes, rocks. These organic forms are framed by an elegant, curved archway. The colour palette is fresh and modern—yellow, white, soft green, a line of red and black. The rock-like shapes at the base of the painting draw the viewer’s eye and ground the work.
“I collect a lot of rocks. They come up as shapes in my work. They’re figurative to me. They are also monuments as well.” Aron Hill
