About Haptic Series Vessel Cobalt and Copper II

This contemporary ceramic vessel in cobalt blue was created by Bill Greaves.

Inspired by the colour, texture, and forms found in nature, Bill Greaves creates uniquely handsome contemporary ceramics. The former architect loves the tactile quality of clay and the almost endless possibilities that working with this ancient material possesses. This piece appears to resemble the form and textured bark of a tree trunk. The colour palette is a rich copper highlighted with vertical veins of cobalt blue and white.

“I called the series ‘haptic’ which literally means sense of touch as I really want people to touch my work. I want people to feel the textures.” Bill Greaves

Bill Greaves originally trained as an architect at Yale University, Bill studied ceramics at Alex Yeung Studio in Toronto from 2017-2019 before setting up his studio near Consecon, Ontario, in 2020.
