About TTH 10.3

Modernist Burton Kramer’s colourful acrylic paintings are unique geometric compositions that express musical themes. This piece, one of a series, is a striking combination of turquoise, pink, sky blue, red and green.“My paintings reference dancing feet, jazz, bebop, swing, baroque and folk music, Mozart and multi-layered, complex Haitian drumming. Composition, which is geometry based, provides a structure for the use of colour; the colour adds the actual sounds.” Burton Kramer He explores the language of visual forms and sound much like the 20th century European painter Wassily Kandinsky, renowned for his experiments with colour and music. Kramer is one of Canada's most influential and gifted graphic designers. He designed the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation logo in 1974. Kramer trained at Yale University (MFA), The Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology (BSc), The Royal College of Art, London (Fulbright Scholar) and The State University of New York.
