Old lead type, welded together to form the weathered face of this piece, is cast in aluminum. The wings and boat complete the story of ‘The Odyssey,’ an ancient Greek poem that chronicles the journey of Odysseus by ship back to Ithaca after the Trojan War. This is an outdoor or indoor sculpture. Dunning sees his pieces as “objects of reflection and contemplation.”
