Dmitry Yuzefovich’s work is a representation of memory—the recollection of moments in the past. In this oil painting, a motor scooter is parked on a sidewalk—its bright red colour contrasting nicely with the brick wall and green door behind it. Yuzefovich’s work is exquisitely detailed so much so that it often looks like a photograph rather than a painting.
“Details is a God. Details talk to people. My realistic style is my language.”
Born in Ukraine, Yuzefovich obtained a BFA from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, Israel in 2000 and an MFA in 2005. He moved to Canada with his family in 2015 and lives in Nova Scotia. Yuzefovich has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions. His paintings have been collected in Israel, Canada, the US, England and Europe.
