About Inverted Left Hand

A massive hand appears to rise out of the earth in this engaging sculpture by Mississippi artist, Jason Kimes. Reminiscent of the legendary Greek ‘hand of Colossus,’ this outdoor piece is created from welding together small overlapping tiles of corten steel. Over time, it will naturally develop a beautiful rust-coloured patina.

He completed a BFA in Sculpture from the University of Southern Mississippi and a MFA in Sculpture from Southern Illinois University in 2005. Since then, he has completed multiple commissions and taken part in exhibitions across the US. His work is held in private and corporate collections.
