About Origami Swan AP of 5
This contemporary metal garden sculpture is made in the form of a white swan.Jyhling Lee’s beautiful artwork is inspired by the rich traditions and iconic imagery of her culture. As a young child, Lee was taught the ancient art of origami or paper-folding. The precise skills she learned in crafting handmade forms have been translated to her elegant metal sculptural work. This monumental sculpture is designed to stir the imagination, enrich the landscape, and ‘enhance human experience.’ The swan is forged from aluminum and painted a bright white. The swan is part of her ongoing Origami series and "—an object of contemplation that subtly bridges the personal and the universal, suggesting how familiar forms can carry layered meaning across time, culture and place.”
“There is a quiet joy in encountering a swan in the landscape—an experience that often feels both rare and familiar. With its poised stillness and refined geometry, the white swan inhabits the landscape as both figure and presence. Its form carries gentle associations: with grace, transformation, and the ephemeral made lasting.
A familiar figure in the waterways of Prince Edward County and beyond, the white swan drifts between fairy tales and migration routes, sacred stories and everyday sightings.” Jyhling Lee
