About Carved Stoneware Vessel No 2
Loren Kaplan creates uniquely beautiful ceramics. Her elegant forms are inspired by nature; each design has found the sweet spot between traditional, historical, and modern styles. This tall tear-drop-shaped series is handcrafted, the visibly tactile vertical pattern also carved by hand. The color is a creamy white, the surface is glazed. The award-winning ceramicist uses the vessel as a metaphor for potential; the empty container that can be filled. One of a series.βIn my work I integrate symbolic, visual, tactile and spiritual values β blending form, function and meaning.β Loren Kaplan
