About Sing

In this series of outdoor ‘singing’ bowl sculptures, Marlene Hilton Moore continues to explore the theme of ‘listening.’
This stainless-steel bowl is laser cut with the word “Sing” in a stencil font and coated in bright pink and black paint.

“Do we listen, do we hear? Ultimately we hear sound, but listening constructs meaning. Silence too is a part of listening.” Marlene Hilton Moore

The artist has created three other bowls in different sizes in this series: Whisper, Murmur and Chant are available separately.

Hilton Moore has received awards from the Canada Council for the Arts, The Ontario Arts Council and the Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation. Her work is in the collection of the Canada Council Art Bank, the Agnes Etherington Art Centre, the University of Winnipeg and many other public and private collections.
