Importantly, both cards were in the 1997 travelling exhibition, The Illuminated Life of Maud Lewis. They are in the cherrywood frames from that exhibition and are very special for that reason. It is a very detailed, strong and colourful example of Maud's cards. This Christmas Card came direct from artist into the Private Collection of Boutilier's Point, Nova Scotia. Circa 1960. As a child Maud would sell her Christmas Cards in Yarmouth and South Ohio, Nova Scotia along with her mother's for as little as 5 cents a piece.
