Biography

A leading member of the Bennington school, abstract artists associated with Bennington College, Michael Steiner creates sophisticated abstract sculpture and paintings, often with repetitive, geometric patterns. He received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1971. His work is in collections world wide. These include Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Whitney Museum of American Art, Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, the Art Gallery of Hamilton, the Power Gallery of Contemporary Art in Sydney, AU.
