About Tia Maria

In this joyful abstract painting by Milly Ristvedt a whirlwind of colour in turquoise, red, green, magenta and orange creates a dynamic composition. Fine gestural lines float across the canvas adding energy to the work. Known for her intuitive and bold use of colour as a visual language, Ristvedt is considered one of Canada’s foremost abstract artists. She has spent decades exploring the tantalizing possibilities of colour to convey various emotions. This is one of her earlier paintings, sold framed.
