About Vulture I

Nicholas Crombach has made a bold choice by depicting a vulture in this dramatic contemporary outdoor sculpture. The reputation of these ancient birds of prey has historically prejudiced some people against them. Crombach’s vultures are hand-forged in remarkable life-like detail from rust-coloured iron. Vultures, as the Kingston-based artist knows, play an important role in maintaining balance in nature as they eat the carcasses of dead animals.

"My work investigates the relevance of morals with regard to our relationship with animals. Producing an inquiry into human nature, the animals that I have used to visually depict derive from my experiences and upbringing on a dairy farm.”
Nicholas Crombach

Sculptures are priced separately but also curate well as a pair. Images depict each on their own and paired together.
