About Crops

Pat Service has captured the big sky and wide-open spaces of the prairie in this charming colourful landscape. Reminiscent of Van Gogh’s form and palette, the mauve sky, green, orange, and yellow crops span either side of a road that disappears into the distance. This painting was inspired by the many road trips Service took to attend artist workshops in Saskatchewan.

She acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of B.C. and later studied art at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. Service’s work is held in private collections in North America, Britain, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
