Pat Service has an affinity for nature. Growing up on the West Coast the Canadian artist was surrounded by trees, rocky beaches and the sea. This is one of a series of playful pieces that ascribes personalities to different trees. Painted in bright yellow with an orange trunk, the minimalist form pops against an indigo blue backdrop. She acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of B.C. and later studied art at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. Service’s work is held in private collections in North America, Britain, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
