About High Way

Using bright contemporary colours Pat Service has created a joyful painting of the open highway as it winds through a mountainous landscape. The vivid colour palette—yellow, orange, deep blue and lime green accentuates the minimalist form. Over the years many road trips have provided Service with rich mental pictures of the simple beauty of the Canadian countryside.

Pat Service acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of B.C. and later studied art at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. Service’s work is held in private collections in North America, Britain, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
