The colours of summer—pastel yellows, blues, and green are re-imagined in this charming view of Emma Lake, Saskatchewan rendered by BC artist Pat Service. The shoreline curves around the lake, row boats and a diving dock float on the water, a Muskoka chair in a flash of turquoise sits on the beach, a red cabin sits on the slope in the background.
“I seek a new way to see what I have seen before, with playfulness, remainders of memories, and expansive space.” Pat Service
She acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of B.C. and later studied art at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. Service’s work is held in private collections in North America, Britain, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
