About Threesome
Pat Service loves trees. The dramatic BC landscape she grew up in has always influenced her work. In this abstract painting, the clean lines of three bold shapes—trees in various stages of growth dominate the canvas. Against a neutral backdrop of butter yellow, a rich brown mature tree trunk focuses the piece—a younger yellow tree and a peach-coloured shape representing foliage sit on either side.“Do you also know that thing about gardens, when you are planting out your plants, that an odd number makes a much more satisfying arrangement? She acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of B.C. and later studied art at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. Service’s work is held in private collections in North America, Britain, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
