About Rod Mireau
Rod Mireau (b. Saskatchewan, 1971) incorporates reclaimed wood and hardware to create “forms on the edge of recognition, forms that conjure a space between fact and fiction, past and present.” Using traditional and experimental woodworking techniques he constructs large scale sophisticated sculptures that hint at contemporary narratives.
Mireau began his career as a sculptor after studies at Ontario College of Art and Design (1993 – 1997). He has exhibited in New York and across Ontario with a 2018 solo exhibition at The Art Gallery of Peterborough. Mireau received an Ontario Arts Grant in 2006 and the Award of Excellence at the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition in 2008. Mireau’s work is held in private and corporate collections including Holt Renfrew in Vancouver, Four Seasons in Dubai, William Vale Hotel in New York, Ron Joyce Children’s Hospital in Hamilton, and several Toronto condominiums including Pier 27, Tea House and Pears Avenue.View CV
