The infinite view of a prairie landscape has long influenced the contemporary artwork of Sasha Rogers. Layers of subtle colour, and expressive gestural brushstrokes appear to cast shadows across the canvas in this dramatic abstract painting by Sasha Rogers. The colours are an inspired mix of white, yellow, blue, lilac, rose, orange, and black. Rolling cloud-like shapes in darker hues dominate the upper realm; the lower is light filled. Rogers’ ethereal paintings are distinguished by a ‘horizon line’ that divides the canvas and naturally draws the viewer’s eye.

Sasha Rogers acquired a Bachelor of Fine Arts Honors in Drawing and Painting at the University of Saskatchewan. A Master of Visual Arts in Painting followed at the University of Alberta where she received the highest distinction given for outstanding research in visual arts. Rogers taught painting and drawing at both the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Toronto. She has had numerous solo exhibitions in Canada, attended international art fairs and her artwork is held in many corporate collections nationwide. Private collectors span the globe including Canada, the U.S., and Europe.
