About Radiance
This contemporary abstract landscape painting is by Sasha Rogers. The luminous, expressive paintings of this Canadian artist are rooted in her childhood memories of growing up on the vast prairies of Saskatchewan.
That primal experience has inspired Roger’s signature ‘horizon line’ that separates the colour field of her landscapes into two hemispheres. This piece in a rich melange of pinks, reds, and purples features a dividing line of turquoise, blue, green and black. Rogers is highly regarded for her masterful use of gestural brush strokes, intense colour, light and texture. As an artist, she has been influenced by William Turner, Mark Rothko, Agnes Martin, Antoni Tapies and her own father, the celebrated sculptor and painter, Otto Rogers.
“Capturing the vibrations between what hovers above and below is what inspires my work. As an artist, I commit myself to a poetic dance in the immeasurable, that place of equanimity between matter and spirit.” Sasha Rogers
