About White Light
This contemporary abstract painting is by Sasha Rogers.White Light is a stunning example of Sasha Rogers masterful use of light, colour and texture. As an artist, she has been influenced by William Turner, Mark Rothko, Agnes Martin, Antoni Tapies and her own father, the celebrated sculptor and painter, Otto Rogers. This painting is rendered in acrylic and charcoal in delicate colors that range from creamy whites to soft gray and pale blue.
What appears as a line on the horizon—a signature of Rogers' work divides the space and draws the eye towards an infinite view. Rogers spent her childhood on the prairies and the magnificence of that ‘big sky’ country has been locked in memory.
“For me the line has been a highly charged illusive place, both sacred and alluring.”
